What’s the best way to dye silk?
Posted by JaimeG Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

We need to dye China Silk. The banners are going to about 4′ wide and 10′ tall. we need the border to be opaque and the inside not as translucent. I’m thinking about sugesting Sodium Alginate but I’m not sure how to use it and don’t know if that’s the best way to go about this project. Any ideas?

T-shirt companies always seem to know a lot about dyes. Here’s a site for one company I came across:

Don’t ask why, but I seem to recall that belly dancers need to know a thing or two about dyeing silks as well.
